Learning a dance from video is hard because the movement never stops. Dance with Rhythmic Frames presents a model dancer in VR frame by frame, in time with the music, so that learners can see and copy each pose before the next one arrives. A series of studies showed how rhythmic frame-by-frame presentation improves the accuracy of learned movements. This work received the Best Master’s Thesis award at the University of Tokyo GSII.

動画でダンスを覚えるのが難しいのは、動きが止まらないからです。Dance with Rhythmic Framesは、お手本のダンサーを音楽に合わせてコマ送りでVR提示し、次のポーズが来る前に一つひとつの姿勢を見て真似できるようにします。一連の実験で、リズミカルなコマ送り提示が動きの正確さを高めることを示しました。本研究は東京大学学際情報学府の優秀修士論文賞を受賞しました。
